In the first quarter of 2025, the performance of the top social networking applications in Europe presented varied trends across downloads, revenue, and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Threads from Instagram, Inc. witnessed a steady stream of weekly downloads, beginning at approximately 1.2M and slightly declining to around 988K by the end of March. Active user numbers saw an increase from 42M at the start of the quarter, peaking at over 44M mid-March, and then settling at 43.8M by the end of the quarter.

Telegram Messenger maintained impressive weekly revenue, starting at $2.2M and experiencing fluctuations, with a peak of $2.4M in early February. Downloads decreased from 1.7M to 1.2M, while active users hovered around 255M, showing minor variations throughout the quarter.

WhatsApp Messenger showed a stable revenue trend with minor fluctuations, starting at $108 and ending at $100. Downloads decreased from 1.7M to just over 1M, while active users consistently surpassed 550M, with a slight increase towards the end of March.

Facebook from Meta Platforms, Inc. saw its weekly revenue fluctuate between $323K and $390K. Downloads started at 1.2M, decreasing to about 905K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained around 230M with minor fluctuations.

Google Meet had no revenue but experienced a peak in downloads at over 306K mid-February, declining to 219K by the end of March. Active users increased from 9.6M to 12M, showcasing a growing trend throughout the quarter.
